Is it okay for a senior boy to date a freshman girl?

soo im a freshman girl, 14 right now and hes a senior who is 17. ill be 15 in jan. and hell be 18 in april. I live with my dad and id bring the boy to my house for a while and we pretended like we were best friends and my dad really like him, however at school we are a couple, like we held hands all the time but no other PDA. 2 months later a girl from school tells my dad she saw us kissing, and another girl says thats a lie because the worst we do is hold hands. so he made me break up with him when he found out about us. i love him and miss him so much but i dont know what to do anymore. do you think its okay we went out? do you think we should go out again? we arent even allowed to talk to eachother anymore. i need help. and theres no whatsoever guys.
